He was born in Italy in 1961. He received the Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Energetics from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 1986 and 1990, respectively.
From 1990 to 1992, he was with the Nuclear Reactor Physics Group, Politecnico di Torino, as a Researcher. Since 1992, he has been with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bologna, Italy, and, since 2000, he has been a Full Professor of industrial applications of plasmas with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. From 2010 is also member of Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research – Advanced Materials for Mechanical Design of University of Bologna.

His main research interests are plasma assisted nano-particle synthesis and non-equilibrium atmospheric pressure plasma sources development and applications. From 2018 he is senior assistant professor at the University of Bologna.

She was born in Italy in 1994. She received the Master’s degree in 2018 in Energy Engineering from the University of Bologna. She is currently research assistant in the field of Industrial Applications of Plasmas.
