IAP Groups mourns the death of Professor Emeritus Emil Pfender

Passing of Professor Emeritus Emil Pfender

Dear Colleagues and Members of the International Plasma Chemistry Society,
it’s with deep sorrow that we announce to all of you the sad news that Professor Emil Pfender passed away on January 28.
He was truly one of the giants of our wide and ever growing discipline and our whole community will miss him a lot. His legacy of science and humanity is huge and will remain with us as a guiding light.
On behalf of all the members of our International Plasma Chemistry Society we will present our condolences to his family.
We also attach to this message the obituary that will appear on the web page of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where Emil Pfender has been a leading figure since 1964.
